Web Application Developer / Ebates Canada Inc / Toronto, ON, Canada

Job Duties:

The Web Application Developer will be responsible for the Ebates.ca Front End and the Admin Tool Front End. You will be planning and managing releases and coordinating development and QA with teams distributed in satellite offices. You will also be personally responsible for supporting and creating new pages and applications for the existing web sites and infrastructure, as well as implementing new technologies in the Front End as they become available on the Back End platform.

Skills Requirements:

At least 5 years of experience involved in software development, requirements analysis, maintenance and support.

Experience with developing web based applications using HTML, HTML5, CSS, iFrames

Knowledge and hands on working experience with Java, Spring framework, web-services clients.

Hands on experience with the management of releases, planning and estimating work effort, code reviews, defect fixing and supporting QA team.

Knowledge of creating JUnit test cases.

Extremely experienced with Javascript - JQuery in particular.

Fluent with XML

Experience in Linux UNIX operating systems Proficient in Scripting.

Should be able to work with existing codebase and find out practical solutions.

Have a solid focus on page speed and a good understanding of basic principles (eg, deferring JavaScript, sprites/CSS, compression).

Knowledge of JSP, Velocity (and Velocity Template Engine).

Knowledge of AJAX (prototype).

Knowledge and hands on working experience with SQL, MySQL.

Knowledge or experience in Agile/SCRUM, and/or Extreme Programming development methodologies.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, works well in a team, self-driven and adheres to timeliness.

Education required: Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or Engineering
